East Coast Basketball Camps is directed by Coach Dan Spainhour, 
who has been directing camps for more  than 25 years.

Day Camp--June 17-20, 2019
Shooting Camp--June 24-27, 2019
Dan Spainhour has been directing camps for over 29 years. This season he led West Stokes to their second regular season conference championship in as many year and also to the conference tournament championship. He was named the conference coach of the year marking the 29th time he has received such an honor. As a high school basketball coach, he has collected 450 victories and won nearly 70% of his games. Dan Spainhour is also  the founder of The Leadership Publishing Team, a company that specializes in informational manuals for educators, parents, coaches and athletes. He is the editor of The Coaching and Leadership Journal, a monthly journal whose subscribers include coaches from every college sport as well as numerous athletic administrators on both the collegiate and high school level. He is also the author of several books including: How to Get Your Child An Athletic Scholarship: A Parent's Guide to Recruiting; A Season in Words: A Coach's Guide to Motivation from the Preseason to the Postseason; and Coach Yourself: A Motivational Guide for Coaches and Leader.

Goal of the Camp


“The goal of our camp is to provide every camper, within a fun-filled atmosphere, the basic fundamentals necessary to play basketball. We emphasize the fundamentals. Every camper will be shown what to practice and more importantly HOW TO PRACTICE. Everyone will receive plenty of individual attention. 9:00-10:30 Stations—Individual Fundamental Work
10:30-10:45 Skills Contests
10:45-11:00 Fundamental Practice Session—Campers are shown how to practice for maximum improvement
11:00-11:30 Drill Factory
11:30-12:00 3 on 3 league play
12:00-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:00 Set the Camp Record Contests
1:00-1:30 Guest Speaker/Video Session
1:30-1:50 Shooting Clinic/Shooting Contests
1:50-2:50 League Games
2:50-3:00 Review & Closing Lecture
